IG Factbook: "Following more than three centuries under Portuguese rule, Brazil gained its independence in 1822, maintaining a monarchical system of government until the abolition of slavery in 1888 and the subsequent proclamation of a republic by the military in 1889. By far the largest and most populous country in South America, Brazil underwent more than a half century of populist and military government until 1985, when the military regime peacefully ceded power to civilian rulers. Brazil continues to pursue industrial and agricultural growth and development of its interior. Exploiting vast natural resources and a large labor pool, it is today South America's leading economic power. Highly unequal income distribution and crime remain pressing problems."

Tips
- It is recommended to evolve the Livestock transmissions to infect this country, because Brazil is considered a rural country in the game.
- Water 1 & Water 2 are also useful when infecting Brazil, since Brazil is not only humid, but has a decent seaport.
- Brazil borders every South American country in-game, so if the players starts here, iIt would be easy to infect the rest of South America as long as the disease has a certain level of infectivity, additionally, it is necessary to evolve Cold Resistance to be able to infect Peru.
Trivia
- In a 2016 update, the Olympic Games event was changed from London to Rio de Janeiro, if the player evolved Drug Resistance 1, it would cause athletes to catch and spread the disease in Brazil. When this event happened, the player would obtain the "Olympic Spoiler" achievement. In a 2021 update, the Olympic Games were changed from Rio de Janeiro to Tokyo.
- In the news, there is a headline that says "Brazil investigating a new aircraft carrier". This new headlines is random and has no effect on the game.
- In the early versions of Plague Inc. Evolved, many countries in South and Central America used the City Cam of Brazil as a placeholder. In Mutation 1.13, this was changed and each country has its own City Cam.
