Country Information

IG Factbook: "As Europe's largest economy and second most populous nation (after Russia), Germany is a key member of the continent's economic, political, and defense organizations. European power struggles immersed Germany in two devastating World Wars in the first half of the 20th century and left the country occupied by the victorious Allied powers of the US, UK, France, and the Soviet Union in 1945. With the advent of the Cold War, two German states were formed in 1949: the western Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the eastern German Democratic Republic (GDR). The democratic FRG embedded itself in key Western economic and security organizations, the EC, which became the EU, and NATO, while the communist GDR was on the front line of the Soviet-led Warsaw Pact. The end of the Cold War allowed for German unification in 1990. Since then, Germany has expended considerable funds to bring Eastern productivity and wages up to Western standards."

Trivia

  • In the Sovereign Default scenario, Germany and Norway are the only rich countries in Europe, in which their economies have not been affected by the events occurring in the history of the scenario, while other European countries such as France, the United Kingdom and Spain lose this characteristic.[1]
  • In the Ultimate Board Games scenario, Germany is one of the countries in which the player can have their board game manufatured, by establishing themselves in that country, one of the benefits will be that the board game will have less quality problems but at the same time it will become more expensive. Such a manufacturing action costs a total of at least 30 funds.
  • In Plague Inc.:The Board Game, Germany's climate is considered to be moderate, while in the game, the country's climate is cold.[2]
  • Even though Denmark is part of Germany in the game, it appears in some news messages. The reason why Denmark is added to Germany is due to the size of the country.
    • Among the news about Denmark, it is mentioned that the "Danish Mafia becoming too powerful", this message is a joke among the game developers, it is related to the fact that Denmark was added with Germany in the game.[4] This news is random and does not affect public order in Germany.
