Ice Age
"Solar variation reduces the amount of radiation emitted by the sun, triggering a minor ice age and lowering the global surface temperature by more than 5°C as well as triggering other climate change events. Is hell freezing over?" — Plague Inc., Frozen Virus introduction paragraph. |
Ice Age is one of the official scenarios in Plague Inc., which is characterised by altering many of the environmental aspects across nations around the world, following an unusually abrupt reduction in solar variations, causing temperatures to drop drastically.
Making countries that were already initially cold, become much more difficult to infect due to the lower temperatures that cause the population density to reduce, additionally countries that were considered temperate in the normal game, now present much more humidity and in certain special cases, some of them become a bit more arid. Further more, some nations that are characterised by a warm climate are now starting to have a balanced climate in this scenario, which makes abilities such as Heat Resistance to lose some effectiveness.
Official scenarios that change various aspects of the world which includes Ice Age were introduced in Mutation 1.7 for mobile devices in late 2013,[1] whereas these were introduced in Evolution 6 as part of Early Acess in early 2014.[2]

Population Density
In this scenario, some cold countries receive changes in population density, which determines how close people are to becoming infected with the disease in a given country, mainly a reduction in this variable, which makes them more difficult to infect.
