Suppression is a gene available for the standard plagues, in addition to the Neurax Worm, Necroa Virus and Simian Flu. This gene is useful in bypassing situations where a plague would usually be locked out, such as shortly after discovery.
Recommendations
- This gene provides 51x effectiveness in the Xenophobia scenario, because in this scenario governments will usually close borders due to fear of foreigners and the chance of people crossing borders is reduced to 1/17 per day. According to the game DLL files, this gene will make the cut "not work",[1] although it is unknown if this is a bug in the game code. Additionally, it works actually the same as 51x effectiveness compared without this gene in Xenophobia. This gene is also useful for the Shut Down Everything scenario.
- In general, it is advisable to use the Teracyte gene for most of scenarios, although for these two scenarios it is better to use this gene because in these scenarios the land borders will generally be closed rather than open.
Notes
- ↑ Specifically when both neighboring countries have closed land borders, although the gene works on single-closure borders as well, but the effect will be much less effective.
