DrillZero is a mining company that appears at a certain time when playing Frozen Virus in Cure Mode. It is in charge of operating a mining site in the permafrost of a certain cold country located in the far north of the world, this type of mining can release certain pathogens such as Frozen Virus.

One of the differences between the achievements is that the player has to use a certain operation in order to obtain Ice Find, while for Snow Way, the operations that involve censorship will have to be used instead.

DrillZero Establishment

The first event to activate DrillZero requires certain conditions:

• The disease analysis must be greater than or equal to 30%.
• The total number of infected people in the world must be between 0% and 0.1%.
• The countries in which DrillZero can operate are Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.
• DrillZero will not operate in the country of origin of the disease, an example would be if the virus started in Norway, the event will not appear for Norway and the game will choose another country.

Upon completion of these conditions, a news headline appears in red about experts believing that mining in permafrost may release pathogens.

Mining process and quarantine

For the following events to happen, in the country where DrillZero works cannot be in any quarantine, if the country enters a quarantine series, the second event will not start because DrillZero have cancelled their operations due to the player's actions.

Mid-Term Gameplay

Since it is not possible to use Quarantine per continent because this prevents the events from happening, but at the same time the Frozen Virus still needs to be contained, the player will have to vary the strategies a bit, one of the ways is to use Targeted Quarantine in the countries that have many infected, use operations such as New Infrastructure to prevent the collapse of the health care system in infected countries or use Contact Tracing & Testing Capacity to control the number of infected.

Events

• Second Event:
  • Requires vaccine analysis to be completed, plus we cannot start the vaccine development process.
  • The country where DrillZero works must have less than 0.1% of both infected and killed.
  • Effects: A news headline will be launched with the following statement: DrillZero announces expansion of permafrost mining to <Country Name>.

• Third Event:
  • Requires the same percentages as the previous event plus we cannot start the vaccine development process. The only difference is that now the event becomes more random, so there is a chance that it will not happen. It is better to save in the second event in case we are not lucky.
  • Effects: A news headline will be launched with the following statement: DrillZero begins permafrost mining in <Country Name>.

• Fourth Event:
  • Requires that we send Field Operatives, in addition to having a team expansion, to the country where DrillZero is working to take over the mine.
  • Effects: A pop-up will appear saying the following: Field Operatives in <Country Name> have shut down the permafrost mining site after discovering <Disease Name> in ice. A superspreader event has been avoided.
  • Note: From this event, Ice Find or Snow Way can be obtained.

Ice Find

The player must obtain the operation "Outbreak Intelligence Unit" activated. It will come out saying about the Outbreak Intelligence Unit being able to contain the disease outbreak at the mine well, and now knows more about the disease, which accelerates the development of the vaccine, and you will get the achievement.

Snow Way

The player needs to have Censorship or Fake News enabled when investigating the mine. A pop-up will appear, saying that an undercover reporter discovered that DrillZero is being used to conduct experiments on the country's population. You will lose some authority and get the achievement.

Freeze Things Happen

Basically, the player needs to do the opposite of the fourth event, don't send any field operative to the country where DrillZero works. A pop-up will appear saying that DrillZero has earned a lot of money for the mine, but despite this has caused the population of the country where they were operating to be infected with a new strain of the virus. The infectivity will rapidly increase in the world and the player will obtain this achievement.
