Vaccine Shield is an ability exclusive to the Smallpox scenario. It makes the Variola major strain of smallpox immune to the smallpox vaccine.

Variants

Depending on what type of vaccine the country produces, the player will need to adapt Smallpox's abilities, as the pathogen has disadvantages in spreading if there are mass vaccination events in certain countries.

EJ2

This variant along with EJ7 are the first stages of this ability to be evolved to combat the first series of vaccines manufactured by the countries. Additionally, this stage of the ability sometimes needs to be changed because as the world takes the smallpox outbreak seriously, better vaccines will be developed, which makes this stage of the ability somewhat inefficient in certain situations.

EJ7

This variant of Vaccine Shield is one of those that rich countries will prioritize to vaccinate their population, while other countries will use EJ2, which may prevent the plague from spreading and dying out quickly after the vaccination process if this variant of the ability is not activated immediately.

EJ13

The EJ13 variant is the most powerful as well as the most expensive in the game, the governments will start to supply this vaccine in case paranoia and chaos starts to corrupt around the country due to the outbreak of Smallpox, by applying this vaccine massively to the population of a country will quickly stop the rate of infectivity, so it is necessary that the pathogen evolves this ability to avoid being annihilated before time.
