Muscular Hypotrophy is a symptom exclusive to the Shadow Plague, it increases the strength of the infected by increasing muscle mass, allowing the infected to easy overpower other humans.
This is one of the symptoms necessary in order to obtain the Watery Grave achievement, where the vampire has to be able to drown Templar's scientists in Turkey.[1]
