Latent Adaptation is a symptom exclusive to the Shadow Plague DLC. This symptom causes the Shadow Plague to repeatedly alter the proteins in its cell wall, known as antigens, which makes it harder for the immune system to detect it, as well as making it harder to cure the disease.
