You could possibly negoiate with the Apes, but in the movies the viruses that give the Apes their intelligence and wiped out most of humanity, the ALZ-112 and ALZ-113 viruses are lethal to Humans. So if that effect applied to the apocolpse, I'd go with the Zombie apoloipse because of the existence of ZCom and the fact that the Zombies in most plagues die of starvation or decay anyways. Good question tho.
