Abilities (Multiplayer)

In multiplayer, the abilities are similar in Co-Op mode and Versus mode. These abilities help the plagues to obtain more infection, lethality or resistance to the cure.

General Descriptions

  • Unscheduled Flight: Unlock an Active Ability that lets you send an infected person to a country of your choice
  • ReShuffle Preparation: Preparatory genetic changes will allow your DNA strands to reshuffle
  • Genetic ReShuffle: Multiple strains of the pathogen now exist, increasing the work needed to develop a cure
  • Genetic Sacrifice: DNA complexity transferred to partner. Increases future research speed for your disease, but more work is required to cure partner's disease
  • Genetic Raid: Steal DNA complexity from partner. More work is required to cure your disease, but increases future research speed for partner's disease
  • Infect Boost: Unlock an Active Ability that lets you boost infectivity in a country
  • Infection Gift 1: Increase infectivity of your partner's disease
  • Infection Gift 2: Greatly increase infectivity of your partner's disease
  • Infection Theft 1: Steal some infectivity from your partner's disease
  • Infection Theft 2: Steal a lot of infectivity from your  partner's disease
  • Lethal Boost: Unlock an Active Ability that lets you boost lethality in a country
  • Lethal Gift 1: Increase Lethality of your partner's disease
  • Lethal Gift 2: Greatly increase Lethality of your partner's disease
  • Lethal Theft 1: Steal some Lethality from your partner's disease
  • Lethal Theft 2: Steal a lot of Lethality from your partner's disease
  • Opportunistic Infection 1: Pathogen evolves to target compromised immune systems. Easier to infect people who are infected with another disease
  • Opportunistic Infection 2: Pathogen evolves to target slightly weakened immune systems. Easier to infect people who are infected with another disease
  • Immune Support 1: Pathogen improves the immune system's defences. Other diseases find it harder to infect people who are infected with your disease
  • Auto-Immune Support 2: Pathogen greatly improves the immune system's defences. Other diseases find it harder to infect people who are infected with your disease
  • Genetic Domination: Pathogen becomes significantly more powerful - able to rapidly infect people who are already infected with another disease
  • Corpse DNA 1: Gain a regular DNA income linked to the number of deaths your Pathogen has caused
  • Corpse DNA 2: Gain a regular DNA income linked to the number of deaths your Pathogen has caused
  • Immune Shock: Unlock an Active Ability that makes it significantly easier to kill people infected with both diseases
  • Benign Mimic: Unlock an Active Ability that forces a country to focus cure efforts on the other disease, whilst your disease hides
