Genetic Hardening is a basic Ability present in most plagues. By making the pathogen harder to analyze in laboratories, it lowers the Cure Research Speed.[Note 1]

Variations

Nano-Virus

Genetic Hardening becomes considerably less impactful in Nano-Virus compared to other variants, along with its reduced cost. This is compensated by one of the Nano-Virus' Unique Abilities, Kill Switch Stasis, which decreases Research Speed even more than the other Standard Plagues' second stage of this Ability.
